Why we built a lodge for kingdom strategy

Silverloonlodge started on a long winter of evenings spent in browser tabs, raising towns and arguing in clan chats. We noticed that most writing about these games either cheered every update or dismissed the whole genre, and very little of it described what a normal week inside a kingdom is actually like. So we decided to write that ourselves.

We focus on one niche: northern kingdoms and clan strategy, the games where you build a stronghold, grow a leader and live or fall with your alliance. That narrow focus lets us play each game properly, for weeks rather than an afternoon, and compare them against each other with real experience instead of feature lists.

Our reviews are written by players who joined clans, sat through timers, lost towns to careless raids and celebrated the occasional siege. We play in ordinary browsers on ordinary computers, mostly in the evenings across Canada, which is also why we pay close attention to time zones and event schedules in every review.

We update the shelf when games change. A game can move up or down as its balance, community or shop shifts, and we will tell you why when it does. If you think we have something wrong, write to us; several of our best corrections came from readers who had been playing a kingdom longer than we had.

01

We play before we score

No game gets a number until we have spent weeks on a live server, inside a clan, with ordinary timers. First impressions are recorded but never published as a verdict.

02

We write the gripes down

Every review includes the things that annoyed us, including shop pressure and the gap between free and paying players. A kingdom worth playing can survive honest criticism.

03

We stick to what we saw

We describe mechanics we confirmed in play or on official pages, and we leave out numbers we could not verify. When we are unsure, we describe the experience rather than guess.
